Philosophy
The Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education originated in the town of Reggio Emilia, Italy after World War II, when educator Loris Malaguzzi collaborated with parents to create a new form of childcare that prioritized community involvement, respecting children's potential, and fostering a love of learning through the 100 languages of children.
We value children and their natural interests, which is why we embrace an emergent curriculum that is ever-evolving. We provide open ended materials and provocations that spark children's curiosity as they engage in deep, meaningful learning.
Fundamentals of the Reggio Emilia Approach
-
Imagine the child as protagonist, researcher, collaborator, communicator
-
Experience the parent as partner and participator
-
Explore the teacher as nurturer, guide, researcher
-
Create a rich and meaningful environment that provokes children’s thinking
-
Use documentation as a tool for learning and thinking
